About Lanette

Ever since she was a little girl, Lanette has loved telling and writing stories. Some of her earliest stories were about a child-detective named Lanette Banette, and the plots somewhat resembled Nancy Drew story lines. As a little girl, she wanted to be a detective, but later realized that writing detective stories was a lot less scary than solving real mysteries. In high school she was the editor of the school newspaper, and she was a bit crazy and obsessed with that. She continues to jot down short stories, poems, and essays whenever the fancy strikes, and is trying to write a novel as well. She has always enjoyed reading, and was reading hefty books just months after learning how to read. Her favorite genre of books today is young adult fiction.  Lanette graduated from BYU in 2008 in Communications/ Advertising. Her greatest ambition in life was always to be a mother and stay home with her young children, and she LOVES being able to live that dream with little Iris! In her free time, Lanette enjoys being in the sun (she's always cold), walking with Iris and their friends, and baking (her specialty is crescent rolls).

A Summary of Lanette's Life in Pictures

Shaun describes Lanette:

Lanette is the most awesome person that I have ever met.  I am sure a lucky man that I found her and that she agreed to marry me.  The first thing that I noticed about Lanette was her beautiful smile.  She is such a happy person and adds light and happiness to the live of all those that know her.  Lanette is a very accomplished person.  She graduated from BYU in Communications: Advertising in 2008.  She worked hard to finish her degree and is currently returning to BYU to get a teaching license in Elementary Education.  Lanette wants nothing more than to be a mother, and I have no doubt that she will be the very best. As soon as our home is blessed with children Lanette plans on staying at home to help our children develop with lots of love and nurturing.  Lanette is the oldest of 7 children and from an early age was a great help raising her younger siblings.  She has a great relationship with each one of them and they all look up to her with such admiration.  She is an awesome big sister!  Lanette has a heart of service.  She serves with the young women at church and it a great example to them.  She goes above and beyond to make sure that those girls know that they are loved and that they are precious in the eyes of God.  Lanette is very creative. She loves reading and writing, as a child she had some poetry published and in high school was the editor of the school newspaper.  She also loves baking!  The treats she makes are like art, and I am really glad that I get to eat them in the end. I wish I could tell you all the amazing things about my wife but there aren’t pages enough to fill.  Lanette is amazing and is one of a kind.
